Ben Armstrong, also known as BitBoy, has recently hinted that a major announcement regarding the global adoption of XRP is on the horizon.
Armstrong recently made this suggestion on X while engaging with XRP community figure Edo Farina about XRP being adopted as a world reserve currency by major financial institutions.
In his post, Farina shared an image illustrating key connections between Ripple executives, including chairman Chris Larsen, and major global financial institutions like the Federal Reserve (The Fed), U.S. Treasury, IMF, and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The image suggests that at least 18 top Ripple officials, both current and former, have had or have ongoing connections with prominent decision-making bodies such as the Fed, IMF, WEF, SEC, and SWIFT.
According to Farina, these connections point to one inevitable outcome: XRP becoming the “World Reserve Currency.” Community commentators like Farina often use this narrative to advocate for a bullish perspective on XRP.
However, BitBoy shared a slightly different view. While acknowledging the legitimacy of these connections and the important role XRP will play in the future financial system, Armstrong disagreed with the notion that XRP will be the global reserve currency. “That is NOT going to happen,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, Armstrong emphasized that BRICS Pay—a new payment system being developed by BRICS nations—has a stronger chance of claiming that status than XRP.
That is NOT going to happen. BRICS+ Pay will be the next world reserve currency.
These connections are real. This is why I’ve been telling you $XRP will WIN.

Big Announcements Coming Soon for Further Clarity
Nonetheless, Armstrong highlighted that Ripple and XRP will play a crucial role in shaping the future financial landscape. This suggests that while XRP may not become the world reserve currency, its influence on future financial infrastructure is undeniable.
He further explained that his disagreement with Farina’s perspective arises from access to different information that supports an alternative thesis.
“We both agree that XRP is going to thrive and play a significant role in the financial system; it’s just the ‘how’ that we have different opinions on,” he said.
In this context, he hinted at upcoming announcements that could provide further clarity on the matter.
also no disrespect to @edward_farina. I just have access to different information.
We are both in agreement $XRP is going to rip & play a huge role in the financial system. It’s only the “how” we have different opinions on.
