According to the latest development, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink said that adding the staking feature to Ethereum Spot ETFs is “not on the agenda.”
Eight newly approved spot Ethereum (ETH) ETFs made a strong debut this week despite lacking staking income, a key feature of Ethereum’s native token.
Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETHE), which has existed in non-ETF form for years but was newly converted to an ETF, saw outflows of approximately $811 million. However, new products like BlackRock saw nearly $800 million deposited in the first two days. Issuers expressed satisfaction with these early results.
With a new administration taking office in January, the landscape can change quickly and issuers remain hopeful that staking may eventually become part of their products.
